How to Rig Your Job Application In Your Favor

These are all ways you can turn a basic zero application into a hero application.

The job market is rigged in a million and one ways.

If companies aren't showing favoritism, discriminating based on age, or race, they're pitting people coworkers against themselves to under pay them.

And who know what under paying someone really means?

People get paid what they're willing to accept.

But long story short the corporate world often works together to get more value out of employees and leave them with a lot less.

It's no wonder I chose to never get a real job.

I'm sure the peace of mind I've acquired greatly outweighs all the lost potential income.

But just because I'm not playing the stupid games of the corporate world ( at least not from the job seeker side) doesn't mean all my friends, family, and readers aren't.

So today, let's talk about one secret weapon you can be using to level the playing field.

Whenever you enter into a job seeking process, you're going to war. And most people show up, dangerously underprepared.

You, as fellow WIP, should never be taken advantage of by an employer or company.

When you apply to any job you should always bring a handful of job recommendations.

Recommendation letters feel so cheesy and played out.

Anyone can get a random person to talk highly about them.

Seriously, if I had five bucks and ten minutes I could get 3-4 recommendation letters just by going for a quick walk in the park.

But as an employer, recommendation letters still pack such a serious punch whenever I see one.

And the reason is clear.

When you show up to an interview or apply to a job with recommendation letters, you are conveying one very important message...

Effort.

You are not the average run of the mill high schooler trying to make a quick buck over the summer.

You are a potential employee that cares about this job and should be taken seriously.

When you start putting in effort for a job that you don't even have yet, it speaks volumes about your character.

Another subconscious message that is heard from recommendations is your credibility as a person.

Although we hate to admit it, humans are very gullible when it comes to social proof.

We are hardwired to believe that the more people that support someone, the better they are at... honestly anything.

And that's sad.

But there's no point in fighting human nature.

Use it to your advantage.

The same way rappers, and IG models will sell their first born child to get 10,000+ followers on social media for credibility...

Is the same way employers trust and respect you more when other humans cosign you.

You could be highly underqualified, but if you have enough recommendations they will surely feel dumb not seeing what all the hype is about.

Just have the skills to back up your recommendations.

And if you really want to take your recommendations to another level, get letters from credible individuals.

You can either go quantity or quality and most choose quantity.

But if you get lawyers, doctors, current employees, CEO's, and more to back you up you'll do more than stand out.

You will make a statement.

Sadly, the world is not just gullible to popularity but also titles.

So the more titles and prestige, the better.

These are all ways you can turn a basic zero application into a hero application.

You have friends, mentors, teachers, and previous bosses.

Get value out of the relationships you have all around you.

You never know how far a recommendation will take you in the corporate wor...

In progress,
